IGS (Internet Go Server) is a telnet based Go server where thousands of players from all over the world can meet to play and observe Go games. At any hour of the day, any day of the week, over one thousand is a normal number of connected players. Needless to say, it is fun and a great way to learn Go to connect to IGS. If you install GoKnot, it will connect you to IGS. For playing games, you must register at IGS to get a free account. (IGS is no longer free for all countries, check at IGS to see if you can get a free account.)
