A remake of the 1982 Namco Action Classic Dig Dug

On August 1, 2006, the widely beloved Mr.Driller suffered a gruesome death in a freak drilling accident. His mother watched in shock as this grim news was broadcast on the television. Meryl Hori, Taizo Hori's beautiful wife,
burst into tears. After breaking the news to Taizo, she was appalled when he seemed to be unphased. Taizo simply smirked and said,

"Well, I guess I'll just have to dig down to Hell and rescue him!"
"wha--- are you serious?"
"Sure, it should be a piece of cake. I'm pretty much the digging master.
Remember how I pwned those Pookies back in 1982?"
"Yeah, yeah, but what makes you so sure he's down there?"
"Well remember that time we gave him money to go buy soda at the grocery store, and he came back with two twelve-packs of Fresca(tm)?"
"Oh...yeah..."

And so Taizo suited up and began his epic descent into the depths of the unknown, determined to rescue his own flesh and blood from a fate even worse than death...

The objective of every level is to kill all enemies, and then move past the bottom of the level. You will not be allowed to move past the bottom if you miss even one enemy.

Remember, if you want to use the cable gun effectively, you probably have to walk and shoot repeatedly at the same time (much like in the original Dig-Dug)

NOTE: If you want to replay levels you have already been to, you can load the automatically generated save files from the "levelselect" directory.

Controls:

Up/Down/Left/Right - Control Taizo
Space bar - Shoot current weapon
Control - Switch current weapon
S - Save progress up to the start of the level you are on
Escape - Quit
