Author's note:

Dizzy has always been one of those games which has always given me fond memories of my youth. So remaking a Dizzy game for the competition fitted quite perfectly. Who needs an italian plumber or a speedy blue hedgehog when youve got a puzzle solving walking egg :):

Rather than making any of the later Dizzy's I thought it would be best to remake the first. Agreed its probably not the best game in the series (I prefer Magicland Dizzy if anyone is interested!) but it hardly gets a mention. Also it was never released outside that of the 8-bit machines so this is why I chose it.

The game basically is the same as the original but now includes better graphics, a few more puzzles, better sound, an extra task of collecting coins and remixed title music by Richard Holding.

Dizzy was exploring the haunted forest, looking for berries, flowers and a piece of wood with which to make a club when he uncovered a mystifing stone slab. Brushing the dirt aside he was able to read (after a great deal of head scratching) the faint inscriptions.. 'The Alestowuffober Potion'

Dizzy remembered his Eggfather had spoken of such a potion. 'It is the only way to rid our land of athletes foot, and it can also be used to destroy the Evil Wizard Zaks'. Dizzy trembled with fear as he recalled these words. Zaks brought fear to all the village, he cast spells that turned people old, made men blind and made it rain every Sunday afternoon during Cricket. Dizzy was determined to put a stop to all this, he would be the hero of the yolkfolk!!!
